COVID 19 vs Role of FM

We started the year 2020 with a lot of planning, with a lot of work to do. But we thought 2020 could not have been a better start. You already know about the global virus epidemic called covid 19. The epidemic has spread to nearly 200 countries and self-governing regions and the number of victims is 144,557. Unfortunately, Sri Lanka has lost 6 lives. We can think of this epidemic as a punishment for not obeying nature.

However, the epidemic has disrupted all sectors of the world. China, which is considered to be the start of the epidemic, has regained control of the situation, but many countries in the world are still struggling with it. The World Health Organization (WHO) has provided guidelines to control the spread of the virus.

The companies are very impatient to start their operations after the recovery and the role of the facility managers is very responsible at the moment. One of our primary roles as facility managers is to ensure the health of the occupants of the building. Is our knowledge sufficient for facing those time of situation as facilities manager? Hopefully, this article will share some information about that.

Already, local and international reputable agencies have issued instructions on how to deal with this situation. The Epidemiology Unit of the Ministry of Health and Indigenous Medicine of Sri Lanka has issued a series of guidelines to prepare the workplaces. Use this link for instructions.

You already know that this virus can be transmitted from man to man through the respiratory system. There is a high risk of the virus spreading through HVAC, which is used in large buildings.

Facility managers are facing this crisis at the moment, in the world, and in many institutions in the world, specially in hospitals. They are trying their best to ensure the health of the occupants of the building.

We must also salute the struggle that is being waged by the health, security forces and various other parties in Sri Lanka at the moment. As a responsible citizen, it is our duty to help these sectors.

We must obey the laws of nature. It is our duty to protect the environment and preventing these type of unfortunate situation.

2020 අවුරුද්ද අපි ගොඩක් සැලසුම් එක්ක ආරම්භ කරේ ලොකු වැඩ ගොඩක් ඉවර කරගන්න හිතාගෙන. නමුත් අපි හිතපු තරන් 2020 හොද ආරම්භයක් ගන්න පුළුවන් වුනේ නෑ. ඔයාලා දැනටමත් දන්නවා ලෝකෙම මුහුණ දෙන covid 19 කියන ගොලීය වෛරස වසංගත තත්වය ගැන. දැනට මේ වසංගත තත්වය රටවල් හා ස්වයං පාලන ප්‍රදේශ 200 කට ආසන්න ප්‍රමාණයකට පැතිර ගිහින් තියනවා වගේම රෝගයට ගොදුරැ වූ ප්‍රමාණය 1,446,557 වනවා. අවාසනා වන්ත ලෙස ශ්‍රී ලංකාවේ ජිවිත 6 ක් ඇතුලත්ව  ජිවිත 83,148 අහිමිවෙලා තියනවා. අපිට මෙම වසංගත තත්වය ස්වභාවධර්මයට අවනත නොවීම නිසා දුන්න දඩුවමක් කියලා හිතන්නත් පුලුවන්. 

කොහොම වුනත් මේ වසංගත තත්වය නිසා ලෝකයේ සියලුම ක්ෂේත්‍ර අඩාල වෙලා තියනවා. මෙම වසංගතයේ ආරම්හය ලෙස සලකන චීනය මේ වනවිට එම තත්වය පාලනක කර නැවත යථාතත්වයට පැමිණ තිබුනත් ලෝකයේ බොහෝ රටවල් තවමත් මෙය සමග ගැටෙමින් සිටිනවා.  තවමත් නිශ්චිත ඖෂධයක් නොමැති මෙම වෛරසය පැතිරීම පාලනය සදහා ලෝක සෞඛ්‍යය සංවිධානය විසින් පිළිපැදිය යුතු මාර්ග උපදේශයන් ලබා දී තිබෙනවා.

නැවත යථාතාවයට පත්වීමෙන් අනතුරුව තම මෙහෙයුම් කටුතු ආරම්භ කිරීමට සමාගම් ඉතා නොඉවසිල්ලෙන් සිටින අතර පහසුකම් කළමනාකරුවන් ගේ කාර්යභාරය මේ මොහොතේ ඉතාමත් වගකීම් සහගත වී ඇත.  පහසුකම් කළමනාකරුවන් ලෙස අපගේ මුලික කාර්යභාරයක් වන්නේ ගොඩනැගිල්ලේ සිටිනා පුද්ගලයන්ගේ සෞඛ්‍යය ආරක්ෂාව සැලසීමයි. මේ සදහා පහසුකම් කළමනාකරුවෙක් ලෙස අපට ගත හැකි ක්‍රියා මාර්ග පිළිබද අප සතු දැනුම ප්‍රමාණවත්ද? මෙම ලිපිය මගින් අපේක්ෂා කරන්නේ ඔබට ඒ පිළිබද යම් තොරතුරු කිහිපයක් බෙදා ගැනීමටයි. 

 

මේ වනවිට දේශීය මෙන්ම විදේශීය පිළිගත් ආයතන විසින්  මෙවැනි තත්වයකට මුහුන දියුතු ආකාරය පිළිබද උපදෙස් නිකුත් කර තිබෙනවා. ශ්‍රී ලංකාවේ සෞඛ්‍යය සහ දේශීය වෛද්‍ය ‍සේවා අමාත්‍යාංශයේ වසංගත රෝග අංශය විසින් රැකියා ස්ථාන සුදානම් කිරීම සදහා වූ උපදෙස් මාලාවක් මේ වනවිට නිකුත් කර තිබෙනවා.  උපදෙස් මාලාව සඳහා මේ Link ඒක භාවිතා කරන්න.

එමෙන්ම ලෝක සෞඛ්‍යය සංවිධානයද තවත් උපදෙස් මාලාවක් නිකුත්කර තිබෙනවා. උපදෙස් මාලාව සඳහා මේ Link ඒක භාවිතා කරන්න.

ස්වභාවධර්මයේ නීතියට අවනත නොවීමට අපට කල නොහැක.මින් මතුවට හෝ ස්වභාවධර්මය ආරක්ෂාකර රක ගෙන වෙවැනි අවාසනාවන්ත තත්වයන් වලක්වා ගැනීම අපගේ යුතුකමයි.
